This painting was inspired by an image of Ben Ledi, Sterling, Scotland.

A stylised, modern piece with a focus on colour combinations. When I paint I'm true to the way each painting evolves. I try not to force a style, I listen to my instinct. This painting has turned out to belong to an earlier set of paintings I made.

The sun beats down and lights up the cobbled street. The terracotta coloured buildings reflecting the light, the terracotta pots and pink geraniums are placed to create this abstract interpretation of the place.

In this video I want to show how making an abstract painting is about playing with the interaction between the surface and objects. Layering colour and form to eventually leave a feeling of what you are interpreting.

An abstract interpretation of a late summer landscape where the crops are ready to be harvested. The rich, warm colours and the deep late summer greens of the trees and bushes are depicted here.

Past the base of the oak tree the early morning sunlight streams through the young bluebells and catches the new growth of greenery in the woods, quiet and serene.
