This painting was inspired by an image of Ben Ledi, Sterling, Scotland.
A stylised, modern piece with a focus on colour combinations. When I paint I'm true to the way each painting evolves. I try not to force a style, I listen to my instinct. This painting has turned out to belong to an earlier set of paintings I made.

The sun beats down and lights up the cobbled street. The terracotta coloured buildings reflecting the light, the terracotta pots and pink geraniums are placed to create this abstract interpretation of the place.
In this video I want to show how making an abstract painting is about playing with the interaction between the surface and objects. Layering colour and form to eventually leave a feeling of what you are interpreting.
